STEVEN HIATT
"Sometimes, I feel as if I was born 25 years too late," says Steven Hiatt. The music he creates has roots that range from the late ‘60s to early '70s incorporating the psychedelia of Jimi Hendrix, a sense of melody from Led Zeppelin, and the raging blues of Cream. Steven emerged with a style that is both eclectic and intense. Being a native of Kansas City, he is a naturally talented singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He is also a highly proficient music producer and music engineer, an artist, and a designer.
Bloodlines is the essence of Steven’s musical maturation. Steven evokes blistering electric blues, classic hard rock, earthy folk, southern rock, and elements of groovy funk and soul in the ten original songs. Throughout the recording, Steven’s skills as a singer, songwriter, guitar player, and producer are showcased.
Sparked by a personal DNA analysis and general interest in genealogy, Bloodlines is a celebration not just of Steven's genetic lineage but an analogy to his musical heritage. The finished recording is a bold and brilliant statement showing Steven’s growth as a musician and music producer. Just as each strand of DNA makes up who we are as individuals, each piece is an influence of Steven’s musical DNA
